Hello again.
Firstly, I need to apologise for not keeping the blog running in any shape or form over the past few months. As work has increased and the company grown, it's been harder and harder to maintain and so I have resolved recently to bite the bullwet and get back on the horse. My slightly early New Year's Resolution is to be a lot better at updating this, so people can see what we are up to and how things are going.
We currently have a large renovation project going on in Chiswick, which I thought I would talk a little bit about, as we begin to approach the finishing straight. Our client approached us to do the loft conversion and to renovate the entire house, which she had just bought. With a high spec finish requested, a total rip out of all the old fittings and some structural alterations, it has been a really interesting project to work on. We've done everything from stain and fit a new kitchen, move the boiler, overhaul the central heating system, lay new flooring, repair the wooden sash windows, remove an entire chimney stack, build a shed, decorate the whole house, and of course, convert the loft!
What has been enjoyable about this job is seeing the entire project come back together piece by piece, after the initial rip out. Removing stacks and so on can feel quite destructive and there are days when the house looks nothing like its full potential. What I enjoy is knowing that you are constructing something better in its place. The real pleasure is in putting the pieces back together, one by one, until rooms begin to take shape and the house becomes a home again. In the last week, the kitchen and bathrooms have neared completion and there is a great buzz in seeing that occur after weeks of prep work.
What this has really made me realise, is that we are so much more than just a loft company now. With experience in extensions, basements, renovations and maintenance we are able to offer a complete service to our clients. This not only helps us stay ahead of our competition but also allows our customers to deal with just one company for all their work. It is this piece of mind that has stood us in such good stead over the economy downturn. With a neighbour only five doors away now booking our architect in to draw up plans for their loft, it does appear that our approach is working.
If you want any more information about a project such as this then please drop me a line and I can discuss it in more detail.
Here's to me not leaving it another nine months to write one of these!
Dan.
